Alumni Hall Presentation

For the the last project in Foundations Research, the Alumni Hall group chose to create and document a mock meeting, wherein the members would conduct presentations based on non-serious topics while trying to conduct themselves in a serious manner. The idea became a game, the name of the game – do not laugh. If a member was to laugh, they had to choose a directive made by one of their fellow group mates.

There was no shortage of creativity when it came to the presentation topics. From Aliens to Pirates to cheesy pickup lines, the group came up with some very odd and very funny topics. The directives were not far off either, though they were not allowed to cause harm to any person or the building, we still had some that proved to be potentially mentally scarring.

In the first iteration, we chose to model our dress and conduct as a traditional ‘business’ style of going about things – button down shirts, dresses, and an attempted serious tone.

In the second iteration, we were asked to re-define what a ‘professional’ is, so, as artists, we figured it would be easiest to portray a version of ourselves, albeit a bit more refined. The second day was very obviously much more loose in the sense of how we conducted ourselves and our presentations.
